• Crown Hill Cemetery, on the near westside of Indianapolis, is the third-largest non-governmental cemetery in the United States, spanning 555 acres.
• Indianapolis hasn’t always been the state capital. When Indiana was founded in 1816, its capital was Corydon, in Southern Indiana. In 1825, the state government moved to Indianapolis (a central location), establishing the city as the capital.
• Elvis Presley’s final performance was in Indianapolis – at Market Square Arena, in 1977.
